This hotel is very conveniently located in the center of Thamel. You get easy access to restaurants, little shops, supermarkets and the Nepali art museum. We booked a deluxe double room with balcony for more than a week. The bed was super comfortable, we had our best nights in Nepal here. The bathroom was clean and the shower had hot water and good pressure. We had a little kitchen with a fridge which is very practical. We don’t think the balcony was necessary, as it is quite small, you can’t sit there. But we did have access to the rooftop terrace which is great, part of it is covered. You can sit to have your meals there if you wish also. Our booking included unlimited breakfast buffet every morning. You get your choice of tea or coffee, and your choice of eggs. You then have watermelon or papaya, white toast, boiled vegetables, and usually a choice of potatoes, some noodles or pasta and some other item. The choice is limited but very balanced. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Of the six weeks I spent in Nepal, I spent three of them at Hotel Mega & Apartment in Kathmandu because I always returned there after my long visits in the Valley and Pokhara. The PROS I liked the staff, each one of them, including Ram, the manager. He and Niraj took good care of the guests and would try to satusfy their requests. I would like to mention the staff Dave and the girl, waiters and cooks all in charge of the breakfast buffet who were extremely helpful and friendly, too. Breakfast was good, some mornings even more than good. The hotel has a pleasant rooftop terrace where I once had coffee with a friend. You can book bus tickets at the reception desk for a small fee charged. You can borrow a hairdryer there too, should you need one. Everybody speaks good English and communication has never been a problem. Finally, like in many places, you can pay your bill with Fonepay even if you have Indian Paytm. Location wise is okey, however not worth for the amount you pay daily. No Hot water in washrooms/ Showrooms. TV only displayed not working. Telephone only displayed not working. Wifi super low speed. Washroom window not fully closed, There are gaps in window so no privacy. No dressing mirrors. Restaurant closed before 7pm so, You need to eat outside after. Live Loud music club next to this hotel so difficult to get proper sleep. All these problems were escalated with the team members but they said they don’t have any solutions for the same. With this rate better to find better place.
